CONNECT SKY BOX

It's one of the best moments a householder can have when you've organised to connect Sky Box, the engineer switches on and away you go to some of the best entertainment available today.

And it's easy to arrange and prepare for the moment to connect sky box.

When it comes to the actual Sky installation process, it's a very straightforward process. You contact Sky Customer Services and they'll send you a choice of installation dates. You choose one and then the Sky engineer will let you know what time to expect them, by ringing you either on the evening before the installation date, or before 9am on the day of installation itself.

So, what else do you have to bear in mind when it comes to connect Sky box for the first time? There are a number of things to consider when preparing for your Sky Installation.

Although it's a very simple procedure, it's best to check a few things before the engineer calls.

Firstly, ensure you have a free electrical socket near your TV as your Sky Box will need power. And, as a precautionary measure, think about moving any ornaments away from where the engineer might be working and where your Sky Box intends to live.

Next, ensure that there are working plug-in telephone sockets within ten metres (thirty feet) of each Sky Box to be installed. And the sockets must be able to be to accept incoming and outgoing calls.

When the engineers calls, please make sure that the person in the household is over 18 and able to make the decision where the cable, dish and box can be installed. Bear in mind that all outside cabling will be run externally and on all installs, holes will be drilled for cable access. Any internal visible cable will be tacked to the skirting board.

Please bear in mind that Sky does not install onto communal dishes, or walls with cladding. For blocks of flats, listed buildings, or conservation areas, planning permission may have to be granted and this should all be considered prior to the engineer's visit.

Sky engineers are not allowed, because they are uninsured, to enter loft spaces, or crawl under floorboards. And they will not lift carpeting to lay a cable, or hide a cable from sight. When a Sky+ Box installation is being made, any existing cable may need to be replaced, or a second feed from the dish added to allow the installation to be completed.

Finally, please help your Sky engineer find a place to park near your home, indeed, preferably directly outside, as they will need access to the equipment in their van, including their ladders.

So, when it comes to the day that you connect Sky box, please do all you can to help the Sky engineers provide you your box as quickly and as efficiently as possible.
