It may come as a surprise to many people, but Sky is not just about providing the country's best entertainment, it also has a range of other services, including Sky Phone, that offer a great deal over more traditional services. Sky Phone is a very real alternative to the other U.K. telephone providers and its great advantage is that it is offered as part of the Sky range of services, meaning a convenient payment method as well as top service. Sky Talk Line Rental, at the time of writing, compares very favourable with other telephone providers. For example, its base line rental cost is just £10 a month, compared with the £12.50 (paper billing) a month charged by British Telecom. It's worth noting that Sky Phone won an incredible seven out of 11 uSwitch awards in 2008. And these awards were not given out by members of the industry, but voted by users of the service, you. Sky Talk gives Sky customers free U.K. evening and weekend landline calls (conditions apply), plus a range of great call plans from which you can choose to suit your own particular circumstances. And there are no monthly fees. And Sky makes it easy for people to switch. Available exclusively to Sky TV customers, Sky Talk offers two great options and allows you to keep your existing phone number and the Sky service comes down your existing BT landline. Sky even activate their service remotely, so there is no need for them to visit your home, or for you to arrange valuable time off work for an engineer from another provider that might never appear. For those of you that are a new Sky customers and you currently have your phone service with another provider, either cable, or unbundled, then Sky can also arrange, in most situations, to activate a BT compatible landline for you. Sky will handle all aspects of your line activation with BT Openreach. Plus Sky will try and keep your existing phone number. You can also try the 118 SKY service. All Sky Phone customers enjoy a 25% discount on all calls to 118 759 from their Sky Talk landlines, which makes it a cheaper directory service than 118 118. Sky Phone customers can pick from great call options. Sky customers can get free U.K. evening and weekend landline calls and no monthly fee with Sky Talk Freetime, or unlimited calls to U.K. landlines for just £5 a month with Sky Talk Unlimited (conditions apply). So don't just think of Sky as an entertainment provider. |
